Six months of head-to-head testing across running, gym and daily wear. Here’s what I actually found.

Running shoes comparison Adidas Nike

Running Shoes β€” Adidas Takes This One

The Boost midsole in the Ultraboost is one of the best cushioning systems available. Long distance runs feel noticeably less punishing. Nike’s React foam is excellent too, but for comfort over sustained mileage, Boost edges it.

Gym and Training β€” Nike Wins Here

The Nike Metcon has been the go-to gym shoe for serious lifters for years. Flat, stable sole, excellent lateral support. Adidas makes decent training shoes but hasn’t consistently challenged the Metcon.

Everyday Casual Wear β€” Honestly, It’s a Tie

The Adidas Samba, Campus and Gazelle are having a cultural moment. Nike Air Force 1s and Dunks are classics. This comes down to the aesthetic you prefer.

Simplified: Running = Adidas. Gym = Nike. Casual = whichever looks better on you. Buy the right shoe for the right activity.
